Be like Mary

I'm normally asleep at this time on a Friday night, but I felt compelled to write. Big things are happening. BIG. Have you noticed the connections you're making? The peace in prayer? Virtues you've been striving for are suddenly becoming part of your character? Hope in the face of adversity? Courage to speak the truth? Humility and patience with those who rub you the wrong way? Sincere examinations? Compassion on those suffering? Real trust in God?

The Holy Spirit is on the move! If you haven't noticed, the world isn't quite saying "yes" to God, so it is no surprise that those of us that are saying "yes" to God are getting flooded with graces. Jesus told St. Mary Alocque, "I promise you that My Heart shall expand Itself to shed in abundance the influence of Its Divine Love upon those who shall thus honor It, and cause It to be honored."

The holiness we've been striving for is starting to take shape in our lives and we're all pleasantly surprised, maybe even a little shocked(!), but now we're asking God, what do I do with it? What are you calling me to? What's next?

Those are very good questions.

And you'll love me for this one...I don't have the answer. But I do know that in order to find out, we must be like Mary. Remember the slogan that was printed on everything in the 90s - "WWJD?" - what would Jesus do? Well I think the slogan for our time is "BLM" - be like Mary.

We must keep responding to the grace, we must have an open heart to God, and we must trust. We must keep saying "yes" to God's will and "be it done unto me according to your word," just like Mary. The more the Holy Spirit finds a soul like Mary, the more He floods it with His grace (paraphrasing St. Louis deMonfort here). She is the perfect example of faith, of humility, of trust in God. If you haven't already, consecrate yourself to Mary. "33 Days to Morning Glory" by Fr. Michael Gaitley or catholicpamphlets.net has St. Louis deMonfort's.

The more we become like Mary, the more God's specific plan for our lives will unfold. Just as she said yes without knowing how everything would unfold, we too must say yes without knowing, but trusting. Remember that by becoming more like Mary, we are being transformed into Christ. She will give us a share of her faith, humility, love, trust and peace. You have a specific purpose. You have the gifts that no one else in the world does. You are so needed. Don't believe the lies from the evil one. Don't let anger get the best of you. Don't give into the self-condemnation. Don't be afraid.

Every prayer counts. Be Like Mary!

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us. St. Joseph, terror of demons, pray for us.
